I've been on the free plan since 2018. I send one file a day that is about 200K only. 

All my stats look well within the limits. I don't understand which one I have exceeded. 

Can you tell me please?

Sorry for the confusion. DriveHQ's FTP/FTPS/SFTP Hosting features are business features and require a business subscription. Please understand that very few personal users need FTP/SFTP. For personal users, DriveHQ's client programs like DriveHQ FileManager, WebDAV Drive Mapping and DriveHQ Online Backup are much better and easier than FTP/SFTP.

In general, DriveHQ's free and personal service plans cannot be used for business, except for trying our business features. We also offer 2-week free business trial, which you can sign up online. You can find the information online in the FTP Features page and the Pricing & Plans page ("compare service plans" page), please see the screenshot below:

If the free/personal FTP feature worked fine before, it was because we did not strictly enforce some limitations.

If you need FTP for long term, please consider ordering a business subscription. The lowest business plan is the "Business Basic Plan with 3 users". The business basic plans are low-cost plans optimized for small businesses with small amount of data.

If you believe you use it for "personal purposes", please contact us. We can offer you a special discount.

If you use it for IP camera / NVR cloud storage, please use our CameraFTP.com service instead. CameraFTP offers the most flexible and versatile cloud recording (home/business surveillance) service.

I have for years had a full website with IONOS. I sftp into it and it is available all over the world.  I wanted a DriveHQ site for ftp of occasional small files sent up or read back on the web but hosted somewhere else to be separate from the architecture of my website.

. It was set up easily and I experimented a little, but have hardly used any storage. Now I tried for the first time in months and find the message that I've exceeded the limit. 

Do I HAVE to take out a subscription??

As shown in the screenshot above, and described in our Service Agreement, the FTP/SFTP Feature page, the FTP/SFTP feature is only inlcuded in our business plans. You can use a free service account to try our FTP/SFTP features. But it cannot be used for long-term.

You can order the lowest business plan (Business Basic with 3 Users) for $15/month. If you order yearly, you can save more than 2 months / year for only $144/year. If your usage is very low, we can offer additional discount. Please contact DriveHQ support for more info. Once you order a business plan, the FTP/SFTP feature will be re-enabled immediately.
