CameraFTP Viewer app (for iOS / Android) does not directly connect to your IP camera. Your camera needs to record to the cloud first.
CameraFTP offers Cloud Recording and Surveillance service. A few advantages include:
(1) You don't need to configure firewall (open ports and set port forwarding);
(2) You don't need a static public IP address or DDNS service.
(3) Your camera(s) does not need to be accessible from the Internet. Thus it is more secure. ( If your camera is accessible from the Internet, it is vulnerable to hacking. )
(4) Your footage is recorded to the cloud. Even if an intruder destroys/steals your camera, you will not lose the recorded footage.
If you record footage to the cloud, you can view it using CameraFTP browser-based viewer or mobile viewer app. You can view the live scene or play back the old footage. You can also share your camera or publish it.
